Who is John?

John is a 26 year old lighting technician in New York City. He rides his bike to work and in competitions. He takes pictures, and loves spanish food.

Who is Kate?

Kate is a 25 year old teacher from New York City. She earned her Masters degree in childhood education and hopes to teach Science and Environmental Education. Kate loves what this bike trip is doing to her metabolism and cannot wait to set foot in the Pacific Ocean.

Who is Dorothy?

Dorothy is a two year old Surly, sandy tan and ready to see the world! She has a pair of ruby slippers to take her around the world and safely back home again.

Who is Uncle Henry?

This patriot handles his burden with class and style. While he does keep a keen eye on Dorothy, she can get caught in the occasional tornado.

He’s a Surly Long Haul Trucker with a mix of Arkel and Ortlieb panniers. With camping gear, cameras, a laptop, and the kitchen he weighs in over 100lbs.
