FoodCyclist.com is a resource and blog following Kate and John Suscovich’s journey toward a sustainable and happy life.

Who is John?

A child of the 80′s (thought happy to be out of them) John is an entrepreneur from Connecticut. Through the years he has been a drummer, painter, carpenter, plumber, website and graphic designer, photographer, entertainment technician, and professional adventurer. Those skills look a little all over the map until you put them into the context of running a farm. It is his dream to one day own, and operate, a farm of his own. When not in the field or on a bike, John enjoys reading, writing, running, and eating anything he can get his hands on. He is also a former employee of the Howard Stern Show, known through the show as “Sussy”.

Who is Kate?

Born the same year as John, Kate is a teacher from Connecticut.  Having earned a Masters degree in Childhood Education from Hunter College in New York City, Kate hopes to one day marry elementary education and sustainable living by developing a Garden Education program to be implemented in urban public schools.

Who is Dorothy?

Dorothy is a two year old Surly, sandy tan and ready to see the world! She has a pair of ruby slippers to take her around the world and safely back home again.

A little slimmer than her Uncle Henry, with her gear, panniers, an components she weighs in around 86lbs.

Who is Uncle Henry?

This patriot handles his burden with class and style. While he does keep a keen eye on Dorothy, as she can get caught in the occasional tornado.

He’s a Surly Long Haul Trucker with a mix of Arkel and Ortlieb panniers. With camping gear, cameras, a laptop, and the kitchen he weighs in around 130lbs.
